Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were born in Sherman Oaks, California, to mortgage banker David Olsen and manager Jarnette Fuller, and were groomed for stardom from an early age. Their parents closely monitored their careers, which led to the twin sisters appearing in commercials, family sitcoms, and walking the red carpet.

Ashley Olsen married artist Louis Eisner in a private ceremony on December 28, 2022, after dating for several years. The couple welcomed their son, Otto, that same year. Mary-Kate was married to banker Olivier Sarkozy, brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, from November 2015 to 2021.
