In July 1981, 20-year-old Diana Frances Spencer became the wife of Prince Charles. Just a few months later, paparazzi “caught” Lady Di sleeping at a ball at the Albert and Victoria Museum.
This caused quite a scandal. After all, even sneezing is reportedly only allowed for members of the royal family on a set schedule. Yet here, the princess had allowed herself to fall asleep in public.
However, when the reason for her drowsiness was revealed, it delighted all of Britain. It turned out that Diana was pregnant, expecting her first child — the future King of the United Kingdom. In June 1982, William was born.

By the way, just six months before the birth, Diana had an accident. In January, she fell down the stairs and sustained a bad bruise. Thankfully, the baby was unharmed.
Despite the hardships in her personal life, Lady Di won the hearts of not only her fellow countrymen but millions of people worldwide. She even made it into the top three of the greatest Britons in history.

However, she was constantly pursued by paparazzi, who relentlessly tried to capture pictures of the princess. They sought out sensational stories and made it difficult for her to live her life.
