“Others Need Help More Than You”: Bill Gates Shares the Inheritance He’ll Leave for His Kids

Bill Gates Reveals His Children’s Inheritance: “Others Need Support More Than You”

American billionaire and Microsoft founder Bill Gates has long stated that he doesn’t intend to leave his vast fortune to his children. During an interview with Indian podcaster Rajeev Samani, he disclosed the exact amount: each of his three children will receive less than one percent of his wealth.

According to Forbes, Gates’ net worth currently exceeds $101 billion, meaning his children—Jennifer, Rory, and Phoebe—will share roughly $1 billion. Gates emphasized that he doesn’t want to create a “dynasty,” believing excessive wealth could actually harm his children more than help them.

“My kids had a wonderful childhood and great education. But leaving them all my money would be a disservice, even a mistake,” said the philanthropist.

Gates clarified that he doesn’t want his children to feel pressure to work at Microsoft or live in the shadow of his achievements. Instead, he hopes they will create their own success stories.

“I’ve always told them: the world is full of people who need support far more than you do. That’s what our foundation is for,” he explained.

The majority of Gates’ fortune will still go to charity through his Gates Foundation, one of the world’s most prominent philanthropic organizations, focused on healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation.
