Demi Moore celebrated her 63rd birthday on Tuesday with a moment that couldn’t be bought or planned — a precious FaceTime serenade from her two-year-old granddaughter, Louetta.
The Substance star shared a short video on Instagram showing her sitting in the back of a car, dressed head-to-toe in black, with her beloved dog Pilaf curled up on her lap. In her hands was an iPad, where little Louetta appeared on the screen singing “Happy Birthday” to her grandmother. Demi beamed as she replied, “Aw, thank you! What good singing. I love you!”

The adorable exchange didn’t stop there. After blowing kisses back and forth, Louetta signed off with a playful, “See you later, alligator… after a while, crocodile!” — sending Demi into laughter.
“The sweetest birthday present from my little Lou! Thank you for all of the birthday wishes,” Demi wrote in the caption.

Louetta, often called Lou, is the daughter of Demi’s eldest child, Rumer Willis, whom she welcomed with her former partner, Derek Richard Thomas, in April 2023. Demi proudly goes by the nickname “Yaya” to her granddaughter — a detail Rumer previously shared with People.
Rumer has spoken fondly about the close bond between her daughter and Demi, joking that her mom was the one who introduced Louetta to Disney movies like Moana despite strict no-TV rules at home. Still, she admitted the two share a special connection, especially during FaceTime calls when they’re apart.

Demi, who also shares daughters Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 31, with ex-husband Bruce Willis, has said becoming a grandmother felt like a fresh chapter for the family. She’s described Louetta as “a pocket of joy” and a symbol of healing across generations.

Bruce, who is living with frontotemporal dementia, also lights up around his granddaughter, according to Rumer.
Demi’s birthday was rounded out with loving tributes from all three daughters, each praising her warmth, strength, and endless inspiration — making it clear this milestone year began surrounded by love. 💛
