Kim Kardashian and sister Kourtney pay emotional tribute to late father Robert 23 years after his death

Kim Kardashian honored her late father, Robert Kardashian, on what would have been his birthday, sharing an emotional message more than two decades after his passing.

The Skims co-founder, 45, posted a touching home video from 1995 showing her father skiing with the family. Alongside the nostalgic clip, she wrote, “Happy Birthday dad. I miss you so much everyday,” expressing how deeply she still feels his absence. Kim was just 22 years old when Robert died in 2003 at age 59, only two months after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer.

Support quickly poured in from friends and public figures, including Monica, Lorraine Schwartz, Jeff Leatham, Allison Statter, and Ivanka Trump, who sent their love and condolences.

Kim’s older sister, Kourtney Kardashian, also paid tribute, sharing a photo of an elegant bouquet of white roses and writing, “Happy 82nd birthday to my daddy.” Both sisters reposted a sentimental fan-made video montage celebrating their father’s life.

Robert Kardashian, best known for serving on O. J. Simpson’s defense team during the highly publicized 1995 trial, shared four children — Kim, Kourtney, Khloé Kardashian, and Rob Kardashian — with Kris Jenner before their marriage ended in 1991. He later remarried twice before his death.

In 2019, the family helped open the Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health at UCLA, honoring his legacy through research and patient care.

Kim has long spoken about wanting to follow in her father’s legal footsteps. While she continues pursuing her law studies, she recently learned she did not pass California’s bar exam and will not be retaking it this week.

Meanwhile, her entertainment career remains busy. She is set to appear in Eva Longoria’s ensemble comedy The Fifth Wheel, executive produce and star in season two of All’s Fair, return for season eight of The Kardashians, and produce several additional film and television projects.

Through it all, Monday’s tribute made one thing clear: despite her global fame and packed schedule, family — especially her father’s memory — remains at the center of her world.
