Lisa Rinna is speaking candidly about the harrowing health crisis her daughter, Delilah Belle Hamlin, endured for years — describing it as a period that felt “almost demonic” in intensity.

In her memoir You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It, the 62-year-old actress shares that Delilah, now 27, struggled for nearly a decade with PANDAS, a rare autoimmune disorder known as Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections. The condition, triggered by an abnormal immune response, can cause a sudden and severe onset of obsessive-compulsive behaviors and anxiety.

Delilah was diagnosed at just 11 years old. Rinna recalls that her daughter began suffering from overwhelming panic attacks, at times screaming, pounding on windows, and desperately trying to flee the house. The episodes were so extreme that Delilah eventually couldn’t ride the school bus, step into elevators, or board planes. She refused to attend school unless her father, Harry Hamlin, waited outside her classroom for hours.

Rinna writes that she would drive her daughter around aimlessly to calm her, much like a parent soothing a restless infant. The anxiety often intensified at night, creating a cycle of fear and exhaustion. She remembers physically pulling Delilah away from windows during late-night panic episodes, describing the experience as feeling like her child was no longer herself.

The former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star calls it the darkest stretch of their family’s life.

As if that weren’t enough, Delilah was later diagnosed with mononucleosis as a teenager, leaving her bedridden for weeks. Rinna admits there were moments when it felt as though they had “lost” their daughter. Over the years, she and Harry sought help from countless doctors, specialists, and therapists in an effort to stabilize her health.

The intense focus on Delilah inevitably impacted their younger daughter, Amelia Gray. Rinna acknowledges that while they never intended to sideline her, much of the family’s energy was consumed by Delilah’s medical needs. Amelia often stayed with caregivers while her parents managed the crisis at home.

Delilah’s struggles continued into adulthood. In 2018, she entered rehab twice and is now sober, later sharing that treatment also helped address anxiety and depression. In a 2023 Instagram post, she opened up about quietly battling autoimmune and chronic illness challenges, calling the journey both physically and emotionally draining.

Amelia, now 24, has faced her own obstacles, including an eating disorder in her teens. Despite that, she has built a high-profile modeling career, landing Vogue covers and campaigns for major fashion houses like Valentino and Givenchy. Delilah continues modeling as well, while increasingly focusing on her music career. She also appeared alongside her mother in the Lifetime film Mommy Meanest.

Rinna, meanwhile, is actively promoting her memoir, which revisits her Hollywood feuds, her time on reality television, and behind-the-scenes drama. She recently competed on The Traitors and has been making headlines during her press tour — even playfully channeling co-star Rob Rausch in his signature denim overalls during a New York outing.

Adding to the whirlwind, Rinna recently alleged that she was drugged at a premiere party for The Traitors held at The Abbey in West Hollywood. In a television interview, she claimed that medical tests revealed fentanyl and high levels of amphetamines in her system. She said she could not discuss details because the matter is still being handled by her team but noted that her husband was present and quickly helped her leave the venue.

Through it all, Rinna’s revelations paint a picture of a family that has weathered intense personal and medical challenges — many of them far from the spotlight — while continuing to navigate fame, recovery, and resilience.
