She wore a white tank top paired with blue jeans, a grey sweater draped over her shoulders, black boots, and sunglasses. Theron beamed as she left the market carrying two bags of fresh goods.
Jackson kept things laid-back in a blue t-shirt, oversized navy sweatpants, and UGG slippers, blending comfort with casual style for the family outing.
The trip comes after Theron humorously revealed that both Jackson and her younger child, August, nine, have “zero respect” for her Hollywood achievements, regardless of the numerous awards she’s won. On a May appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, she candidly shared, laughing at the audience: “My children have zero respect for me. I don’t know how, it’s just unbelievable.” She added, “I feel like I’m pretty humble, but every once in a while I’m like there’s a f*****g Oscar right there.” The crowd erupted as she continued, “No, they’re so not impressed with me.”
Theron became the first South African to win the Best Actress Oscar for her role in the 2003 drama Monster. She also recalled a recent moment with her kids, describing how Jackson compared her own daring Old Guard 2 helicopter stunt to a Mission Impossible poster featuring Tom Cruise: “He just looked really cool, and my kids were with me when I shot Old Guard 2, and I did this incredibly intricate sequence… like fighting helicopters, jumping on a real helicopter, hanging off, shooting 99% of it practically. And my child just looked at Tom Cruise’s poster and said, ‘That’s weird, he looks so much cooler than you did.’ I was like, ‘But I hung off the helicopter!’”
Theron has previously opened up about her decision to adopt her children, telling PEOPLE in 2018 that adoption was always a priority for her. Inspired by her upbringing in South Africa and early exposure to orphanages, she explained, “Even when I was in relationships, I was always honest with my partners, that adoption was how my family would look one day… This was definitely not a second option for me. It was always my first.”
