Josh Saviano, best known as Paul Pfeiffer on The Wonder Years, left acting nearly three decades ago, but his role as Kevin Arnold’s loyal, brainy best friend remains iconic. The coming-of-age series, which premiered in 1988, explored adolescence in the ’60s and quickly became a cultural touchstone, tackling issues like race, religion, and relationships. While Fred Savage and Danica McKellar continued acting after the show ended in 1993, Saviano chose a different path—one that eventually led to an enduring internet rumor claiming he had become Marilyn Manson, a story thoroughly debunked years ago. In reality, Saviano pursued a professional career far removed from Hollywood while staying connected to creative work behind the scenes.

Saviano began his acting journey as a child, appearing in the 1987 pilot of The Wonder Years and bringing Paul Pfeiffer to life as a relatable, straight-A student whose intelligence and loyalty resonated with viewers. He also appeared in the 1988 comedy The Wrong Guys, guest-starred on The Ray Bradbury Theater, and starred in the TV movie Camp Cucamonga. After The Wonder Years and its spin-off Archie Bunker’s Place, he continued acting briefly on shows like Knots Landing, Hotel, and Murder, She Wrote before leaving the industry.

Following his departure from acting, Saviano pursued academics, earning his bachelor’s degree at Yale University in 1998 and graduating from Cardozo School of Law in 2003. Today, he works as a corporate and intellectual property attorney and founded Act 3 Advisers in 2015, helping artists and entrepreneurs brand their businesses. In 2018, he co-founded Spotlight Advisory Group, Inc., dedicated to guiding creatives to maximize their potential. Saviano even returned to acting briefly, appearing on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, blending his legal expertise with his entertainment background.

Saviano still cherishes his time on The Wonder Years, noting how acting allowed him to connect with others and create memorable moments. Married since 2002, he has a 14-year-old daughter, and he remains close to his former co-stars, regularly sharing memories and celebrating milestones with Fred Savage and Danica McKellar on social media.
