The 37-year-old singer shared the update on her Instagram Story, posting a TikTok meme featuring a spooky character with the caption joking about how her friends think getting her drunk would be fun — even though she says she gives off a very different vibe when intoxicated. She added her own note at the bottom: “2 months no alcohol.”
The update comes after the performer lost around 60 pounds following what she previously described as an intentional “weight release journey” that began in late 2023. In July 2025, she outlined her routine, which included training three times a week, daily sauna sessions, cardio, and a more streamlined diet.

At the time, Lizzo said she had stopped drinking for an extended period before eventually reintroducing alcohol because she felt she had “earned it.” She also shared that she added animal protein back into her meals, hired a chef to assist with meal prep, and cut out sugary Starbucks drinks, full-fat sodas, and potato chips.
Her fitness routine included activities like pickleball, hiking, beach walks, dancing, and staying hydrated.
The artist, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson, also discussed her transformation during an appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast in April 2025. She explained that her physical changes happened gradually over time, though many people didn’t notice the process as it unfolded. She emphasized that she remained strongly opposed to fatphobia throughout her journey and acknowledged that her weight loss surprised many fans.

Earlier this week, Lizzo also made a personal revelation while appearing on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, where she said she lost her virginity about six years ago. The “Truth Hurts” singer explained that she had wanted to win a Grammy before having sex for the first time, calling herself a “late bloomer” and admitting she had previously lied about it out of embarrassment.
Lizzo, who won her first Grammy in January 2020, clarified that the milestone didn’t happen the same night but shortly afterward. She added that sharing the story felt like a relief.
The singer has been in a relationship with musician and comedian Myke Wright since 2022.
