The 68-year-old 30 Rock star is currently celebrating his birthday with family in the Dominican Republic, where he snapped a selfie with a local man he said was the Spanish actor. Posting the image to Instagram, Baldwin captioned it, “In the DR, I run into @antoniobanderas.”
Followers were quick to question the claim, with many pointing out that the man didn’t quite look like Banderas. One user even asked if it was an April Fools’ joke, noting the resemblance wasn’t exact.
Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria, later cleared up the confusion, explaining the couple were simply joking because they thought the man bore a striking likeness to the Hollywood star. Fans soon joined in on the fun, with some admitting they had to zoom in to double-check, while others agreed the resemblance was surprisingly close.
The playful moment came shortly after Hilaria shared photos from their tropical getaway, showing off her figure in a swimsuit and revealing a new belly-button piercing while posing with the couple’s seven children. She wrote that she was grateful her family joined her after a work trip and described the vacation as a special time together.
However, she also revealed that their son Leonardo suffered a mishap during the holiday, splitting his forehead and requiring hospital care. Hilaria said they were well looked after and expressed gratitude for the kindness they received, adding that aside from the scare, the trip had been filled with beach time and family memories.
The Baldwins share seven children: Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo, Maria, and Ilaria, born between 2013 and 2022.
Hilaria has been in the Dominican Republic filming a new Amazon reality show featuring several well-known personalities vacationing together. The cast includes names from The Bachelorette, Selling Sunset, and Real Housewives franchises, along with singer Tamar Braxton. The couple previously appeared together on their TLC reality series, The Baldwins.
