Richard Gere’s wife Alejandra makes bittersweet admission about 3 children

Richard Gere’s wife, Alejandra Gere, shared a heartfelt reflection on motherhood, admitting she sometimes wishes time would slow down as she watches their three children grow up.

More than a decade has passed since the couple first began their relationship, and they are now nearing their eighth wedding anniversary after marrying in a civil ceremony in April 2018, followed by a family celebration at their New York ranch. Their first son together, Alexander, was born in February 2019, while their youngest, James, arrived in April 2020 during the pandemic. Alejandra is also mother to her eldest son, Albert, from a previous marriage.

Recently, Alejandra offered fans a glimpse into their private family life by sharing photos and videos from what appeared to be a spring getaway. The images showed the children walking along a pier at sunset, watching dolphins from a boat, and enjoying a relaxed beach picnic. In one tender moment, the family was seen sitting together on the sand while watching a film.

Reflecting on how quickly her children are growing, the Spanish businesswoman admitted she sometimes longs to freeze time. She expressed a desire to keep them small a little longer, cherishing their curiosity and the simple joy they find in discovering the world. She also shared a touching image of herself holding one of her son’s hands, emphasizing how precious those fleeting moments feel.

At the same time, Alejandra acknowledged that watching children grow is part of life’s natural rhythm. She noted that parenting also means guiding them as they become more independent and trusting in the qualities they develop along the way. Ultimately, she said the goal isn’t to stop time, but to appreciate every moment and make the most of the time spent together.

She is already noticing those changes with her eldest son, Albert, who recently turned 13. Marking the milestone, Alejandra jokingly referenced the arrival of the teenage years, a stage many parents approach with a mix of excitement and nerves.

The family’s life has also included recent moves between countries. After relocating to Madrid in 2024 to spend time closer to Alejandra’s roots, they later returned to the United States. While they are currently enjoying a quieter life stateside, both have suggested Spain will always remain part of their future plans, with their main focus now centered on raising their children and supporting them as they grow.
