A veteran actress once seen opposite Harrison Ford in a cult sci-fi favorite turned heads during a rare public outing in Los Angeles over the weekend, looking remarkably youthful at 80.
The star, who began her career in the late 1960s with a small role in a 1968 thriller, first worked as a fashion model in New York before transitioning to acting. Over the years, the Golden Globe winner shared the screen with major names like Pierce Brosnan, Steve McQueen, Uma Thurman, Christina Applegate, and Kathy Bates, while also appearing in popular TV series such as Melrose Place, Six Feet Under, L.A. Law, and Charlie’s Angels.

The actress in question is Joanna Cassidy, best known for her role as replicant Zhora Salome in the 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner. During her recent outing, she kept things casual yet stylish in brown pants, a white top, and a leather jacket, completing the look with navy shoes and a simple updo while carrying a purse and laptop.

Born in New Jersey in 1945, Cassidy studied art at Syracuse University and began modeling before marrying Kennard C. Kobrin in 1964. After their divorce in 1974, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, landing an early role in Bullitt (1968) alongside Steve McQueen.
She went on to build a long and varied career, appearing in films like The Outfit (1973), The Laughing Policeman (1973), and The Late Show (1977). Her role in Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott, became especially iconic as the film later achieved cult status.

Throughout the 1980s and beyond, Cassidy continued working steadily in both film and television, including roles in Under Fire (1983), The Fourth Protocol (1987), and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). She also made guest appearances in series like The Love Boat and Hart to Hart, and won a Golden Globe for her performance in Buffalo Bill.

In later years, she appeared in Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (1991), Six Feet Under—which earned her an Emmy nomination—and shows such as Desperate Housewives, NCIS: New Orleans, and Switched at Birth. More recently, she featured in a 2025 episode of Matlock and has upcoming projects, including Last Hand with Beverly D’Angelo.
Reflecting on turning 80, Cassidy shared that she still feels decades younger, embracing aging with a relaxed, day-by-day mindset. She also recently confirmed a new relationship with Alan Hamel, the widower of Suzanne Somers, revealing that their romance is going strong after years of not dating.
