Homer James Jigme Gere, 26, who recently appeared as Dylan Reid in the third season of Euphoria, shared that his father is a constant source of practical advice, especially when it comes to navigating life in the public eye. Rather than focusing solely on acting technique, he explained, Richard often emphasizes mindset, behavior, and balance.
“He gives great advice,” Homer said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “It’s not necessarily about the craft itself, but more about how you carry yourself, how you make this work in a positive way. Having that kind of sounding board constantly is amazing.”

Despite living on different continents, Homer revealed that he and his father remain closely connected, speaking almost daily. Richard Gere relocated to Spain in 2024 with his wife, Alejandra Silva, and their two younger sons, Alexander and James, while Homer continues to live in Los Angeles as he pursues his acting career.
Richard, for his part, has spoken warmly about the bond he shares with Homer, emphasizing how much he values time with him. In a past interview with People, the Pretty Woman star said he is happiest when they are simply spending time together, whether it’s walking outdoors or doing meaningful activities.

The actor welcomed Homer in February 2000 with his former wife, actress Carey Lowell. Homer grew up in Westchester, New York, and later graduated from Brown University in 2024, earning a degree in psychology along with a minor in visual arts before stepping into acting.
Throughout Homer’s upbringing, Richard made a conscious effort to prioritize fatherhood, even adjusting his professional choices to ensure he wouldn’t be away from his son for extended periods. He has previously said he would turn down projects if they meant being separated for too long, underscoring that family comes before career.

Now beginning to establish himself in the industry, Homer is taking on new roles, including a part in the upcoming Ryan Murphy series The Shards, based on Bret Easton Ellis’s thriller. The project has also drawn attention for its cast connections, including Kaia Gerber, whose family history intersects with the Gere family through Richard’s former marriage to Cindy Crawford in the 1990s.

As Homer steps further into the spotlight, his comments highlight a relationship built not just on fame, but on steady communication, guidance, and a shared understanding of how to stay grounded in an unpredictable industry.
