Lauren Holly, best known for her memorable roles in 1990s hit films and for her brief marriage to Jim Carrey, is making a return to the screen with a brand-new movie at age 62.
Once a familiar face in Hollywood during the decade’s biggest years, Holly is now starring alongside Sophia Bush in the upcoming film Broad Trip, set to premiere May 8 on The Roku Channel.

Holly first rose to prominence as Deputy Sheriff Maxine Stewart in the acclaimed TV drama Picket Fences, where she appeared for four seasons. Her breakthrough in film soon followed when she portrayed Linda Lee, wife of martial arts legend Bruce Lee, in the 1993 biopic Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story.

The following year, she reached even wider fame playing Mary Swanson in the comedy classic Dumb and Dumber, starring opposite Jim Carrey. Their on-screen chemistry later turned into a real-life romance, and the pair married in 1996 before divorcing the following year.

Holly continued building a successful career throughout the decade with roles in films such as Beautiful Girls, Sabrina, Down Periscope, Any Given Sunday, and later What Women Want.
Born in Pennsylvania and educated at Sarah Lawrence College in New York, Holly began acting in her early twenties with appearances on shows like Hill Street Blues and Spenser: For Hire. She later joined the cast of All My Children before continuing into television and film success.

In the years that followed, she remained active in entertainment. She played Director Jenny Shepard on NCIS from 2005 to 2008, later starred in Motive, appeared in Designated Survivor, and took roles in films including Field of Lost Shoes and The Blackcoat’s Daughter.
At the height of her fame, Holly was also featured in major magazines such as Movieline, Empire, and InStyle.

Her personal life has included three marriages. After first marrying actor Danny Quinn, she later wed Jim Carrey, whom she originally met during an audition for Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. In 2001, she married investment banker Francis Greco, and together they adopted three sons: Henry, George, and Alexander.
Now based in Ontario with her children, Holly continues to travel for projects while balancing family life and a steady return to acting. Her latest film marks another chapter for a star many still remember fondly from one of Hollywood’s most iconic eras.
