The actors first met in 2017 while filming the series “Gypsy.” A year earlier, Naomi had separated from her long-time partner, Liev Schreiber, after 11 years of marriage. They have two sons together: 17-year-old Alexander and 16-year-old Samuel.
Naomi confessed that a relationship with Billy, who played her husband in the thriller, was the last thing on her mind, despite the many simulated intimate scenes they had on screen. She explained that she experienced early menopause at 36. “I started seeing Billy in a different light after one of our passionate scenes, when he spontaneously threw a pillow across the room, taking control of me with such passion that I blushed and lost my composure,” she shared.
Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup tied the knot in 2023.

Naomi was particularly puzzled by this moment, as her sexual drive had decreased in the years following her early menopause. The actress, known for her role in David Lynch’s “Mulholland Drive,” also candidly discussed her first intimate encounter with her now-husband, which involved a bit of an embarrassing moment. She had to wear a special patch for hormone replacement therapy, and when she realized she was about to have intimacy with her boyfriend, she became very shy.

“I had to sneak into the bathroom and figure out a way… If anyone knows about these patches, they have pretty strong adhesive, and it wasn’t easy to remove, so I was gone for too long,” she recalled.
The two-time Oscar nominee is promoting her memoir “Dare I Say It,” where she talks about her challenging Hollywood career and personal life. Naomi admitted she almost fainted when she finally peeled off the patch and saw the mark it left on her body. She was worried and wondered how Billy would react and whether he would still want children. Eventually, when her boyfriend called for her, she decided to come clean.
“I came out of there in horror and said, ‘I wear these hormone patches and I didn’t want you to see them because you’d realize I have early menopause, which means I’m old, and you wouldn’t want me. Oh my God, maybe I should just leave?!’” she admitted.
However, Billy put her fears to rest. “Hey, if it makes you feel better, I have gray hairs on my balls,” he said. Naomi called it the most romantic thing she’d ever heard. She praised the actor, known for his role in “Watchmen” and a Tony Award winner, for being compassionate, not a squeamish fool. In 2023, Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup got married.
