I decided to repair an old chest of drawers with my own hands: the result was amazing

This chest of drawers stood in my husband’s grandmother’s house for many years 😲 During this time, the chest of drawers had already managed to lose its former appearance: the paint was peeling, and the legs looked unstable ☺️ I decided to completely transform it 😍 The the result was amazing ☺️ See for yourself ⬇️⬇️

My mother-in-law made the important decision to keep some items from my husband’s grandmother’s house.

When my grandmother sold her house and moved in with my husband’s parents, I asked my mother-in-law to put aside two nightstands and two chairs so as not to give them away with the house.

Also, along with the grandmother, her favorite kitchen utensils, carpets, chests, paintings and other personal items moved to the new house, which found their place in the warehouse in the mother-in-law’s house.

In the summer, when my whole family came to visit my husband’s parents, I decided to take care of one of the nightstands. It had already lost its former appearance: the paint had peeled off, and the legs looked unstable.

I started by stripping it completely of its old coating. It was no easy task, but I enjoyed the process, imagining what it would look like in the end.

At the time, I thought the easiest solution was to paint it a new color, change the legs and handles. I chose a soft pastel paint color, and for the handles I found something vintage to keep its character.

I replaced the legs with more modern ones to give it stability and lightness.

When the work was completed, I felt great satisfaction. The nightstand was transformed, becoming not just furniture, but a decoration of the room. This was my first experience in restoration, and it turned out to be not only useful, but also inspiring.

For a beginner, such projects are ideal: they do not require too much time and effort, but allow you to understand the basic principles of working with furniture and feel the joy of the result.

Now this nightstand occupies a place of honor in our home.
