Eight years ago, Juan was the fattest man in the world

Juan Pedro Franco weighed almost 600 kilograms and couldn’t get out of bed without the help of eight people 😲 After 6 years spent in captivity of his own body, he decided to have surgery 😢 Today, the “fattest man in the world” has lost weight and has become unrecognizable 😲

Mexican Juan Pedro Franco’s weight problems began to manifest themselves at an early age.

At age six, he weighed a whopping 60 kilograms, and an injury as a teenager only made matters worse. At age 17, he weighed 229 kilograms!

Over time, Juan only increased in weight, and by the age of 32, his weight had reached 609 kilograms, and he was recognized as the “fattest man in the world” by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2016.

At his heaviest, he was unable to get out of bed without eight people helping him and wore a diaper in bed to avoid having to get up to go to the toilet.

Juan was a prisoner in his own body for six years before he made a decision that changed his life forever.

He realized that he would not live long if he continued in the same spirit, but nothing helped.

For the first time in more than six years, Juan was able to leave his home and go for the long-awaited operation.

When he got to the hospital, doctors discovered he had a multitude of medical conditions. He had type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure and water in his lungs.

The first operation was successful, but Juan needed to lose more than 170 kilograms to be eligible for the second operation.

And in 2017, he achieved this goal and was able to undergo the operation again.

After another successful operation, Juan decided to completely change his lifestyle.

Juan continues to fight for a healthier life, and as recently as last year in 2023, he weighed just 355 kilograms.
