Not all discarded furniture is destined for the landfill—sometimes, all it needs is a little creativity and craftsmanship to be reborn. This nightstand, once abandoned by its previous owner, has undergone an incredible makeover, turning it into a unique and stylish piece. Through careful restoration, artistic detailing, and a bit of DIY magic, an ordinary find became an extraordinary interior accent. This transformation proves that with patience and vision, even the most unassuming furniture can have a second life.

A nightstand that is hard to recognize after a makeover
As the author of this makeover writes, the nightstand was found in a trash bin. But in its updated form, it became an interior decoration. The makeover included several stages. The nightstand was washed, sanded, and the surface was leveled. It was painted with water-based acrylic enamel. The doors were decorated using the decoupage technique – these are ordinary table napkins from the mass market, which were glued with PVA, and then brushed over with the same diluted glue. Then wooden slats were attached to the doors using decorative nails. The tabletop was replaced, the new one is a furniture board. The author of the makeover brushed the material with an iron nozzle, went over it with a burner, and cleaned off the burnt fibers with an iron brush. Then she covered the tabletop with wax and finally sanded it.
