I wanted to get rid of unnecessary junk, but my daughter decided to repair our old chair: this is what she got

This old chair has been sitting in our attic for over 20 years. I decided to get rid of the old junk, but my daughter announced that she could repair the chair. She replaced the plywood parts, added new elements and painted it. This is the gorgeous chair she made in just a few days. If you also have such old stuff, be sure to take a look at what can be made from it

When I once again went up to our old attic to tidy up, my gaze fell on a chair that had stood there for more than twenty years.

Its appearance was a mixed bag: faded wood, peeling paint, cracks and peeling plywood parts. Frankly, the chair looked like its best days were sometime in the last century.

I was about to take it to the trash can when my daughter walked into the room. Seeing me carrying this decrepit wonder, she exclaimed, “Mom, no way!” I looked at her in surprise. “It’s just an old chair, its time has passed,” I replied. But my daughter clearly had a different attitude.

“No, no, you have no idea what potential he has. I’m going to make something amazing out of him,” she said with a sparkle of enthusiasm in her eyes.

The next day, she began working on the chair. She began by thoroughly cleaning it, peeling away layer after layer of dust, paint, and time. The texture of the wood was revealed beneath the layers.

She decided to replace the plywood parts that looked hopeless. The new pieces were hand-cut and painted a deep emerald green. This color, combined with the natural wood tone, created a surprising contrast.

But she didn’t stop there. Her daughter added soft upholstery to the seat – light linen with a small floral pattern. Every detail was thought out to the smallest detail. She even treated the legs of the chair with a light golden patina to give it a vintage, yet modern look.

When the work was finished, I hardly recognized this chair. It was transformed from a dull and forgotten object into a real work of art. Now it stands in our living room and attracts the attention of all guests.
