After five years of sobriety, Michael Jackson’s daughter discloses her drug and alcohol addiction.

Paris Jackson celebrates her five-year sobriety milestone and talks about her rehabilitation from heroin and alcohol addiction.

After declaring she has been sober for five years, Paris Jackson, the daughter of the late music icon Michael Jackson, disclosed that she is recovering from her addiction to heroin and alcohol.

According to People magazine, she posted an open video on Instagram, describing herself as a drug and alcohol addict and thanking herself for overcoming her addictions.

“To say that I’m thankful would be a poor euphemism, as today marks five years clean and sober from all drugs and alcohol,” she stated.

On Tuesday, 26-year-old singer-songwriter Paris Jackson wrote in the post: “Gratitude barely scratches the surface.” I’m able to grin today because I’m sober. I get to compose music. I get to enjoy the happiness that comes from loving my cats and pets. I get to experience the full splendor of heartbreak. I get to be sad. I get to chuckle. I get to dance. I get trust.

Jackson’s video clip opens with pictures of her drinking, partying, and crying. It then cuts to happier sequences, such dancing with friends, before ending with a thank-you note.

“I can feel the warmth of the sun on my skin. I’ve discovered that life goes on whether or not I’m sober, but today I get to be there for it,” she continued.

Michael Jackson’s older sister, her aunt La Toya Jackson, wrote on social media: “Congratulations, Paris.” I’m incredibly proud of your development, fortitude, and achievements.

She offered love to Paris and complimented her niece on her efforts to “help others that are going through this.”

Jackson’s post sparked comments from other celebs as well. American socialite and media personality Paris Hilton wrote: “So proud of you sis.” “You’re amazing amazing amazing,” wrote Lucy Hale, an American performer.

In 2009, Michael Jackson passed away in Los Angeles. Jackson died from “acute propofol intoxication,” according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s homicide investigation. Jackson was utilizing propofol, an anesthetic and sedative that is frequently given intravenously during medical procedures in a clinical setting, to aid with his sleep at home. When he passed away, several other powerful prescription medications were discovered in his system.

Paris Jackson was eleven years old when her father passed away, while her brothers, Prince Jackson and Bigi (formerly known as Blanket) Jackson, were seven and twelve years old, respectively.

“My dad was really good about making sure we were cultured, making sure we were educated, and not just showing us, like, the glitz and glam – like hotel hopping, five-star places,” Jackson said in a 2021 interview with British model Naomi Campbell, discussing the impact of her father on her life.

Jackson referred to herself as a “fan of his music” and stated: “I feel like every part of my childhood will always influence how I am today, whether it’s experiences or all of the music we listened to … He was an avid listener of classical music, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and of course, Motown, as well as the Top 40 on the radio. He adored the Beatles, soft rock, and rock music.

Conrad Murray, a former cardiologist and the late pop star’s personal physician, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s death and sentenced to two years in prison.
