Robert De Niro, an actor, is the proud father of seven children, four of whom he had with separate women. In April 2023, when the actor was 79, he and Tiffany Chen welcomed their newest addition to the family.
Recently, one of his daughters came out as transgender at the age of 29, and his heartfelt response demonstrates the depth of his love and support as a father.
Airyn, who was born in 1995 while De Niro was dating Toukie Smith, revealed that she is transgender in an April interview with Them magazine.
De Niro’s transgender child said about her transition to womanhood, “It just seemed right. I feel like I’m supposed to be doing this.
Despite being the child of a Hollywood icon, Airyn has spent the majority of her life out of the spotlight. She only spoke out about her transition after media outlets noticed her with long pink hair and created news.
“Obviously, no parent is perfect, but I appreciate that both of my parents agreed to keep me out of the spotlight. “They wanted it very private,” she informed them. “They have told me they wanted me to have as much of a normal childhood as possible.”

Airyn reported that she began hormone therapy in November.
Trans women’s success can be attributed to their honesty and openness, particularly on social media. I am like, you know what? Perhaps it isn’t too late for me. “Perhaps I can start,” she said.
Following her admission, her father was unequivocal about his affections for her, stating that he didn’t understand why anyone would doubt them.
“I loved and supported Aaron as a son, and I now love and support Airyn as my daughter. “I’m not sure what the big deal is,” he told People in a statement.
The actor went on to say, “I love all my children.”
De Niro’s child came out as transgender during a time when Trump’s administration is banning expression of “gender ideology.”
“I’d want to hopefully be an inspiration for at least one other person like me who is Black, who is queer, who’s not a size extra small,” she told Them.
“I’d want to see more trans women, more Black women who are maybe bigger-bodied or don’t fit the mold of super thin or heroin chic.”
