This armchair had been part of our family for generations. Though it had undergone restoration once before, time eventually took its toll—the fabric faded, the upholstery tore, and the armrests were barely holding together.
Still, I wasn’t ready to let it go and decided to breathe new life into it.
From the beginning, I knew it wouldn’t be a simple task. The structure was falling apart—cracked frame, broken joints, and foam that had turned to dust. It was a true challenge.
I took on the project myself and gave the armchair a full makeover to make it shine in our new home.
To my surprise, the armrests I assumed were wooden turned out to be plastic! I replaced all the damaged components and opted for a tough, textured canvas instead of traditional fabric—sturdy, stylish, and built to last.
The color makeover was dramatic as well—the once bright orange upholstery was swapped for a calming green shade, giving the chair a whole new character.
In the end, the transformation exceeded my expectations. The chair didn’t just regain its function—it took on a fresh identity and now stands out as a signature piece in our uniquely styled home.
I’m proud of the work that went into it—this chair is more than restored; it’s reborn.
