To everyone’s surprise, a young couple set their sights on a shabby old apartment that had once belonged to retirees who couldn’t afford to renovate it. Despite its run-down condition, the couple saw potential—and didn’t hesitate to make it their own.
Owning a home had always been their dream, and once they revealed the apartment they had purchased, it left friends and family speechless. Wasting no time, they hired a professional designer to help breathe new life into the 100-square-meter space.
They kicked off the makeover with a small layout update. In the entryway, they chose patterned floor tiles and painted the walls a bold green, installing a sleek storage system opposite the door. A cleverly concealed utility closet with draped fabric added both function and charm.
The kitchen entrance was relocated to connect with the living room. Light-colored tiles formed an eye-catching floor accent, while tall columns housed built-in appliances. A cozy corner kitchen unit was placed at the back. The walls were painted a deep blue, and the gas water heater was neatly hidden. A white tile backsplash (apron) completed the look.
In the living room, pale wall colors were enhanced with moldings and decorative elements, while the floors were finished with parquet boards. A comfy sofa took center stage, facing a white chest of drawers, and just behind the sofa was a stylish dining set that drew plenty of admiration.
That same rich blue hue used in the kitchen made another appearance in the bedroom, which now includes a walk-in wardrobe. The space was completed with a bed and matching bedside tables.
In the bathroom, the couple chose a mix of paint and wallpaper for the walls, and laid down patterned tiles for a polished finish.
