The golf, embroidered with crystals, was found by the technical staff and put up for auction by the Maison Ivoire Nîmes auction house. This lot was worn by the artist at a concert in Nice in 1997, where he performed the legendary “moonwalk”.
The white sock embroidered with crystals, which American singer Michael Jackson wore when he performed his famous “moonwalk”, was sold at auction on Wednesday, July 30, for 6.2 thousand euros.
The lot was put up for auction in the French city of Nîmes, organized by the auction house Maison Ivoire Nîmes. The starting price was 2.5 thousand euros.
The artist wore this sock during a performance that took place on June 27, 1997 in Nice as part of the HIStory World Tour. The item of clothing is clearly visible during Jackson’s performance of the “moonwalk” to the songs “Billie Jean” and “Beat It”.
A stagehand, who was sorting out equipment at the time, came across this golf shirt, decorated with sparkling square crystals, abandoned near the dressing room. He carefully kept the item in a frame, along with his backstage pass from that time,
