Mel Gibson’s Lookalike Son Milo, Now 32, Is Making His Own Mark in Hollywood

Milo Gibson, the 32-year-old son of legendary actor and director Mel Gibson, is beginning to turn heads in Hollywood — and not just because he looks strikingly similar to his famous father.

Best known for roles in Braveheart and Conspiracy Theory, Mel Gibson is a household name with nine children. And while most of them have stayed out of the spotlight, Milo is stepping into it — following a path that mirrors his dad’s in more ways than one.

From the Shadows to the Spotlight

Although Milo has shared the screen with his father in a few projects, he didn’t dive into acting right away. His journey to Hollywood was far from traditional.

Born in Australia in 1990, Milo moved with his family to Malibu at the age of three. Despite growing up in a celebrity household, his upbringing was surprisingly down-to-earth. “It didn’t feel like a Hollywood childhood,” Milo shared. “My parents made sure we had a normal life.”

Surfing, football, and a few run-ins with stars like Robert Downey Jr. were part of his everyday life, but the glitz of fame didn’t hit him until he got older. One of his earliest memories of his dad’s work? Visiting the set of Braveheart, only to be quickly escorted away from a gruesome scene filled with hanging dummies.

Before the Acting Bug Bit

Milo didn’t initially plan to follow in his father’s footsteps. He worked as a massage therapist and even became an electrician. “I enjoyed working with regular people,” he said. Acting seemed like a world apart — until he felt a pull toward it, thanks in part to his father’s encouragement to pursue what truly made him happy.

That turning point came in 2016 when he had a small role in Hacksaw Ridge, directed by Mel. The experience was a game-changer, sparking a real passion for acting.

Since then, Milo has taken on lead roles in action thrillers like All the Devil’s Men and appeared in films like The Tribes of Palos Verdes and Breaking & Exiting.

A Mirror Image of His Dad

Milo’s strong jawline, intense eyes, and thick dark hair have led many to do a double take. “People tell me I look like Mel Gibson,” he said with a laugh. “I just say, ‘Thanks — I wish!’”

Still, while the resemblance is uncanny, Milo is determined to establish himself as more than just “Mel’s son.” He even tried his hand at modeling for a while, though acting is where his heart truly lies.

Making His Own Way

Milo’s acting career is still in its early chapters, but he’s showing range and ambition with each new role. With his talent, grounded upbringing, and the support of his parents, he’s well on his way to carving out his own legacy in the industry.

Like his father before him, Milo is doing things on his own terms — and that’s what makes his journey so compelling.
