Supermodel Gigi Hadid celebrated her daughter Khai Malik’s fifth birthday on Friday with a series of never-before-seen photos shared on Instagram Stories.
In one heartwarming shot, the 30-year-old model — now dating actor Bradley Cooper, 50 — crouched beside Khai in a horse stable. Gigi wore jeans, a camo sweatshirt, and a baseball cap, while her daughter looked every bit the little cowgirl in pink boots, brown chaps, and a denim jacket. “My girl is 5 today,” Gigi wrote over the picture, adding: “Happy Birthday to my greatest love & gift.”
The proud mom, who shares Khai with ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik, also posted a throwback from October 2023, holding her daughter on her hip while wearing jeans and a simple white T-shirt. Other snaps included moments from her pregnancy and sweet fan-shared memories of mother and daughter.
Although Gigi and Zayn have chosen not to reveal Khai’s face publicly, the model often shares glimpses of her from discreet angles. Speaking to Vogue earlier this year, she explained, “I don’t think it would be fully genuine to post nothing of Khai. But I also don’t want to put anything up that would take away from her privacy and her peace.”
The Guest in Residence founder also reflected on her complicated relationship with social media. “I am grateful for it, because I wouldn’t have the same career without it. But my Instagram is like snail mail… life has to load,” she admitted.
Hadid further opened up about co-parenting with Zayn: “We set our custody schedules months in advance. Things shift sometimes, but we help each other out and have each other’s backs. We’ve entered this phase with love and camaraderie.”
Gigi and Zayn dated on and off for six years, during which she appeared in his 2016 music video for Pillow Talk. Since late 2023, Gigi has been romantically linked to Bradley Cooper, after the two met at a children’s birthday party where both their daughters were guests.
