Earlier this month, the reality star revealed she didn’t pass.
Kim Kardashian is opening up about the intense and emotional journey of preparing for the California bar exam.
In a heartfelt Instagram video posted on Sunday, Nov. 16, the 45-year-old star shared what the final weeks of studying really looked like — even though she has already announced she did not pass the test.
“I’ve brought you along on so much of this process, and this summer I filmed parts of those last two weeks of preparation — the highs, the lows, and everything in between,” she wrote. “On November 7th, I learned that I didn’t pass the bar. It was disappointing, but it wasn’t the finish line. This dream means too much to me to quit, so I’ll keep studying, keep learning, and keep showing up for myself until I make it.”
The video opens with Kardashian in tears on her bed, before flashing back to two weeks prior. The clips show the sheer amount of effort that went into getting ready for the notoriously difficult exam — which includes five one-hour essays, a 90-minute performance test, and 200 multiple-choice questions.

Her days were consumed with reviewing legal cases, working closely with her professors, and digging deep into course materials. At one point, she was so mentally immersed that she began dreaming about missing points on the exam.
Adding to the pressure, the SKIMS founder also injured her back during this time, leading to painful disc issues that made it even harder to stay focused. Eventually, the stress overwhelmed her.
“Every time I feel like I’m finally getting ahead, something tries to pull me back,” she said through tears. “Part of me wants to quit. My head feels like it’s going to explode, and I still have so much left to do.”
Despite everything, she pushed forward. While her four children were away on vacation, she dedicated every minute she could to studying.
“The day before the test, I actually felt good,” she said. “My body felt better than it had all week. I felt ready.”
But on Nov. 7 — the same day Hulu premiered All’s Fair, where Kardashian plays a chic divorce lawyer who leaves a male-led firm to start her own — she learned she had not passed.

“Well… I’m not a lawyer yet. I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” she joked on Instagram Stories. “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still fully committed until I pass. No shortcuts, no quitting — just more studying and more determination.”
She ended with gratitude and optimism: “Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. Falling short isn’t failure — it’s fuel. I came so close, and that only motivates me more. Let’s go!”
