A GoFundMe created on behalf of Spodick’s family shared that his passing was both unexpected and deeply devastating.
Sam Provenzano, Spodick’s fellow contestant from the reality dating show, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the loss. “Chad was a gentle, thoughtful soul who loved with his whole heart,” he said. “I never imagined gaining a true friend from a reality show, but I’m thankful our paths crossed. He cherished his mother dearly. My thoughts are with her and all who loved him. He will be missed. I just hope he knew how deeply he was cared for.”
His loved ones confirmed the news in a statement on GoFundMe, writing:
“Our hearts are broken as we share the devastating loss of our beautiful, kind, and generous son, brother, and friend Chad.”
They added that his passing was sudden and heartbreaking, and the family is still struggling to imagine life without his “light.”

The tribute described Spodick as someone who constantly lifted others up, encouraging them to grow, speak up for themselves, and recognize their own value. His compassion extended to animals as well — especially his four dogs and his bird, Cosmo. “The world was brighter with Chad in it,” the message continued. “Anyone lucky enough to know him felt the warmth of his heart every day.”
The fundraiser, organized by Kate Werbowski, aims to help Chad’s mother, Felice Harwood, with funeral costs, ongoing living expenses, and continued care for Chad’s beloved pets.
Spodick appeared on the first — and only — season of Logo TV’s Finding Prince Charming in 2016, hosted by Lance Bass. He left the show during its sixth episode and later alleged that the show’s “Prince Charming,” Robert Sepúlveda Jr., attempted to pursue him and other former contestants afterward.

Following the announcement of his death, friends, relatives, and fans have filled the comments of his final Instagram post with messages honoring his kindness, positivity, and vibrant spirit. His niece also encouraged supporters to contribute to the GoFundMe to help the family through this difficult time.
