Camryn Magness — a singer-songwriter who toured with One Direction, Cody Simpson, Greyson Chance, and Fifth Harmony — has tragically died at the age of 26.
According to People and later confirmed by TMZ, Magness passed away on December 5 after being fatally injured in an electric scooter accident.
A devastating collision
News of her death was shared on her official Facebook page on December 9, accompanied by a video of Camryn scuba diving.
Her family wrote:
“Our hearts are heavy as we mourn our beloved Camryn — a vibrant soul whose music, warmth, and bright spirit touched countless lives. Whether she was performing onstage or exploring the ocean, she lived with fearless joy and unwavering kindness. In the stillness between the waves, her memory will rise again — bold, beautiful, unforgettable. Rest in the endless blue, sweet girl. You are deeply loved.”

TMZ reported that Miami Beach Police responded to a crash involving an electric mobility scooter and a pedestrian at about 7:52 p.m. on Friday. Camryn was riding as a passenger when the collision occurred. Everyone involved sustained serious injuries and was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Camryn later succumbed to her injuries.
Her mother, Sarah, confirmed that there will be no public memorial.
A career that began early
Magness started her music journey at just 8 years old, sending a demo to manager Jeff Pringle. She went on to record “Wait and See,” featured in Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer, and gained early attention through YouTube covers. This led to opening slots on Greyson Chance and Cody Simpson’s 2010 Waiting 4U Tour, and later, performances with Chance again in 2012.

That same year, she joined One Direction for several dates on their Up All Night Tour and later rejoined them for their Take Me Home Tour in 2013. She recalled feeling thrilled when fans began to recognize her, telling Teen Vogue how meaningful that experience was.
Camryn continued releasing music over the years, including singles like “Now or Never,” “Lovesick,” and “Machines.” In 2016, she opened for Fifth Harmony on their 7/27 Tour, and in 2021 she released her EP Love Maps.
Her obituary described her as “a gifted performer whose music reflected her heart, courage, and boundless creativity.”
Camryn is survived by her fiancé Christian, her parents Sarah and Gary, and her siblings Chelsea and Cable.
She was 26.
Rest in peace, Camryn.
