Miley Cyrus may be channeling her iconic Disney alter ego once again. While attending the 37th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday, Jan. 3, the 33-year-old singer hinted that her newly revealed blonde hair and bangs could be a subtle nod to the upcoming 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana.

Speaking with Variety on the red carpet as she celebrated receiving the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award, Cyrus confirmed that plans are already underway to mark the milestone of the beloved Disney Channel series.
“Of course,” she said when asked about a possible anniversary celebration. “We’re putting a lot of work into it.”
When pressed for more details, Cyrus kept things playful, refusing to reveal specifics. Instead, she teased fans by pointing to her hairstyle, saying, “You see the bangs,” a clear reference to Hannah Montana’s signature look.

Hannah Montana, which premiered in 2006 and aired for four seasons, followed Cyrus as Miley Stewart — a teenage girl secretly living a double life as pop star Hannah Montana. The franchise later expanded with a feature film released in 2009 and became a defining moment in Cyrus’s career.
In a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio, Cyrus shared her desire to create something meaningful for the show’s anniversary, calling it the foundation of everything she has built since. She reflected on how the character she once struggled to outgrow has now become a cherished symbol of nostalgia for fans worldwide.
Cyrus, who made history in 2024 as the youngest recipient of the Disney Legend title, has repeatedly expressed gratitude for the role. While accepting the honor, she proudly acknowledged Hannah Montana and her loyal fanbase, quoting the character’s famous line: “This is the life.”
