’80s Screen Siren, 77, Seen Grocery Shopping in Quiet New England Town Decades After Her Iconic Film Role’

Bonnie Bedelia — forever remembered for her role opposite Bruce Willis in the blockbuster action hit Die Hard — has been spotted going about her daily routine nearly 40 years after the film first hit theaters.

The actress was recently photographed in Ridgefield, Connecticut, where she was seen grocery shopping during a low-key outing. Dressed casually in blue jeans, a black sweater, and a coordinating puffer vest, Bonnie blended right in as she exited the store.

She completed her practical look with black winter boots and a matching hat, pushing a cart filled with grocery bags across the parking lot. Wearing glasses and sporting shoulder-length gray hair, the 77-year-old appeared unfazed by cameras as she loaded her purchases into the back of her silver SUV.

Bonnie famously portrayed Holly Gennaro McClane, the wife of New York City police officer John McClane, in the first two Die Hard films. The original movie debuted in 1988, followed by Die Hard 2 in 1990. Bruce Willis later returned for three additional sequels released in 1995, 2007, and 2013.

The franchise’s first two installments continue to spark annual debates over whether they qualify as Christmas movies, as both are set on Christmas Eve and feature strong holiday elements.

Willis’ portrayal of John McClane remains one of his most celebrated roles — and he reportedly played a key part in casting Bonnie. According to reports, he personally recommended her after being impressed by her performance in Heart Like a Wheel, a film about a pioneering female drag racer.

At the time, Bonnie was already gaining momentum in Hollywood, earning a Golden Globe nomination for that role. Following Die Hard, her career flourished with notable performances in Presumed Innocent alongside Harrison Ford and Needful Things with Ed Harris.

She later became a household name again as Camille Braverman on NBC’s Parenthood, appearing for six seasons from 2010 to 2015. The series also starred Craig T. Nelson, Lauren Graham, Mae Whitman, Dax Shepard, and Peter Krause.

In recent years, Bonnie has continued acting, taking on a leading role in Netflix’s The Noel Diary (2022) and appearing in the sports drama The Hill (2023) with Dennis Quaid.

She also comes from a well-known acting family, as the aunt of Oscar winner Kieran Culkin, Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin, and their siblings.

Bonnie was previously married to screenwriter Ken Luber, with whom she shares two sons. She later married actor Michael MacRae in 1995, and the couple have remained together ever since.
