Shakira took a worrying fall during a live concert over the weekend after twisting her ankle mid-performance.
The 49-year-old Colombian singer was performing in San Salvador on Saturday when she slipped during the show, briefly alarming fans.
While singing her hit Si Te Vas, Shakira was walking across the stage when her right ankle suddenly gave way. She lost her balance and fell to the side, landing on her elbow and knocking over her microphone stand.
She paused singing as audible gasps rippled through the crowd. However, showing true professionalism, Shakira quickly got back on her feet and carried on with the song, as her band played on and her guitarist encouraged her.

Laughing it off later, the singer shared the clip on her Instagram Stories, joking in Spanish: “Don’t worry, I’m made of rubber hahaha.”

The incident happened during her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women No Longer Cry) World Tour, marking her first-ever performance in San Salvador. She is set to finish her shows there on Sunday before heading to Mexico, with the tour concluding in Abu Dhabi on April 4.

Launched last year, the tour has been named the biggest female tour of 2025 based on ticket sales and box office revenue.
It follows the release of her album of the same name, which includes a well-publicised diss track aimed at her ex-partner Gerard Piqué.

Shakira and the former Barcelona footballer, with whom she shares two children, split in 2022 after 11 years together amid allegations of infidelity.
Speaking positively about the breakup, Shakira has said it reignited her focus on music and creativity, ultimately leading to the massive world tour.
She told The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in 2024: “I was releasing music here and there, but it was really hard to put together a full body of work. I didn’t have time because of the husband factor.

“Now I’m husbandless. The husband was dragging me down. Now I’m free. Now I can actually work.”
Referring to her album title, she added with a laugh: “It’s men’s turn now. For too long women were expected to cry with a script in their hands and no ending, just because we’re women.”
