I invited my husband’s parents over for dinner, hoping to have a nice evening 🍽️.
My eight-year-old daughter Lily was eagerly preparing 👧.
She had been taking piano lessons for the past few weeks 🎹 and dreaming of impressing her family
“You’ll be fine,” I whispered, smiling encouragingly. 😊

First came a muffled chuckle from my mother-in-law, followed by a more genuine laugh from my father-in-law. And then this phrase, thrown out with contempt:

“They were wrong, my dear. You play wonderfully. The important thing is that you improve and enjoy it.”
The next morning we returned to the piano together. 🎼 Lily hesitantly placed her hands on the keys. “What if I make a mistake again?”
