Ruby Wax embraced the ocean with a refreshing swim, sharing with fans that she’s feeling “so alive” and deeply grateful.
The 72-year-old comedian showed off her timeless figure in a sleek black swimsuit, smiling brightly as she enjoyed the water. Posting the moment on Instagram, she wrote that she was feeling “so alive, so humble, so grateful.”
The carefree snapshot comes after her recent stint on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, where she was the fifth contestant eliminated following a public vote against fellow campmate Lisa Riley.
During her time on the show, the Girls On Top star also made headlines for planting a playful kiss on host Declan Donnelly during a live episode of spin-off show Unpacked, sending viewers into a frenzy.

Fans will soon get to see more of Ruby’s bold, sharp-edged humor as she prepares to return to the stage. She’ll team up with longtime friend and producer Clive Tulloh for a tour revisiting memorable moments from the groundbreaking shows they created together, along with behind-the-scenes stories never shared before.
The tour begins in Henley-on-Thames on March 25 and runs through to Bristol on July 7.
In her signature wit, Ruby joked: “It’s Ruby here — broadcasting live from the jungle, where the Wi-Fi is powered by mosquitoes and my only beauty routine is ‘don’t get eaten.’ But don’t worry — as soon as I escape, I’m heading back on the road and can’t wait to see you.”
Offstage, Ruby has been married for 33 years to television producer Edward Richard Morrison Bye. She has described their relationship as “unconventional,” crediting their habit of spending time apart as a key to keeping things healthy.

The outspoken Chicago-born comic married the softly spoken British producer in 1988 after meeting him in 1985 while filming Girls On Top with Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. Together they share three adult children: Max, Madeleine, and Marina.
Reflecting on her marriage in a past column, Ruby joked that she practically proposed to Ed herself, telling him she had a slot open in her calendar and setting a date — even claiming, playfully, that other men were lining up (which she later admitted wasn’t exactly true).
Through it all, Ruby continues to balance sharp humor, honesty, and a zest for life — whether on stage, in the jungle, or diving into the sea.
