The 21-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin addressed the speculation via Instagram Stories on Monday. Reposting a message she had written, Apple said she felt compelled to respond as the narrative had spiraled.
“Hi! I didn’t wanna respond but this narrative is completely false and has gotten so out of hand,” she wrote. “I have never been expelled from any school, especially not for bullying anyone.”

She added that while she understands not everyone will like her, the specific rumor is inaccurate. “The internet is a place where ppl can share their opinions,” she continued, “but this rumor is completely untrue. I am not that type of person and anyone who is close to me knows that.”
The renewed attention comes after Apple faced online criticism in 2024 when footage from Le Bal des Débutantes appeared to show her stepping into another debutante’s photo moment and later rolling her eyes at her date, Count Leo Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck.

At the time, a source close to the family insisted she had been mischaracterized. They described her as playful and supportive, not someone trying to steal the spotlight, and said the evening had been a joyful one for all involved. The source also maintained that she shared an easy rapport with her escort and that the widely circulated clips were taken in jest rather than out of malice.
Currently a student at Vanderbilt University, Apple is set to graduate in May with a degree in law, history, and society. Although she previously planned to attend law school, she recently revealed in an interview with Vogue that she has had a change of heart. Instead of pursuing law — a path she admitted was partly driven by a desire not to follow in her parents’ footsteps — she now hopes to become an actress like her mother.

She clarified she has no interest in becoming a singer like her father, the frontman of Coldplay, explaining that solo singing feels too intimidating. Acting and dancing, however, are passions she wants to pursue seriously.
In the same interview, Apple candidly addressed speculation about cosmetic work, admitting she tried lip filler once at 18 but felt it was too much. She pushed back on ongoing claims about her appearance, saying her look is more about lip liner and natural expression than procedures.

Apple’s parents famously split in 2014 in what Paltrow described as “conscious uncoupling,” but they have remained amicable co-parents to Apple and her younger brother, Moses.
In recent years, Apple has stepped further into the spotlight, including making her fashion week debut in 2023 when she sat front row at a Chanel show in Paris.
