Teyana Taylor brought serious fashion drama to the 2026 Actor Awards — but it was her five-year-old daughter who ended up owning the night.
The 35-year-old star, nominated for her role as Perfidia Beverly Hills in One Battle After Another directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, arrived at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in a striking silver-and-grey trompe l’oeil gown. The daring design featured sculpted fabric details and a dramatic trailing train, paired with a sparkling diamond necklace that shimmered under the flashes of photographers.

She completed the look with cluster diamond earrings and an elegant Tiffany & Co. necklace draped gracefully around her neck — serving full red-carpet fantasy.
Still, the real scene-stealer was little Rue Rose Shumpert.

The poised five-year-old — Taylor’s daughter with her ex, former NBA player Iman Shumpert — confidently worked the carpet like a seasoned celebrity. At one point, she carefully adjusted her mom’s sweeping train for the cameras, instantly winning over onlookers.
Rue even delivered her own mini red carpet speech, charming everyone within earshot. “I just want to say, this is such an honor being here,” she began sweetly. “And I wanted to thank you guys for my mom and for this wonderful day… and all of y’all’s outfits look amazing.” She capped it off with a playful punchline: “And I’m mostly saying this for my mom.”

Social media lit up almost immediately, with fans swooning over the pint-sized standout. Many dubbed her Taylor’s “cutest plus-one,” while others joked that Rue had officially taken on “princess duties” — and even the role of stylist — for the evening.

Taylor, who also shares 10-year-old daughter Iman “Junie” Shumpert Jr. with Shumpert, has been open about how meaningful this awards season has been. After earning her Actor Awards nomination alongside Odessa A’zion (Marty Supreme), Ariana Grande (Wicked: For Good), Amy Madigan (Weapons), and Wunmi Mosaku (Sinners), she reflected on the milestone on Instagram.

Calling it a full-circle moment, she shared how much the recognition meant to her as a longtime SAG member and as “the little girl from Harlem with a big dream,” adding that being acknowledged by her peers left her deeply humbled.
Earlier this year, Taylor also secured a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for One Battle After Another — but at the Actor Awards, it was clear that no trophy could outshine the glow of a proud mom sharing the spotlight with her daughter.
