The 46-year-old actress showed off her favorite corners of her dream house overlooking the sea.
Kate Hudson’s $6 million Pacific Palisades home was previously owned by her mother, Goldie Hawn, and Kurt Russell , but the couple later sold it. The actress bought it back in 2005, and then bought the house next door in 2011, creating a sprawling estate.
“I wanted to completely remodel everything. Then the fires came. We lost so many old houses in the Palisades that I said, ‘I’m not going to tear down these walls.’ So now, instead of doing a crazy renovation, I’m working to respect the original form of the home,” Kate Hudson told Architectural Digest about her refuge.
“My deepest, most fundamental memories are connected to this house: with my grandmother, my grandfather, my mother’s aunts and uncles, Kurt – my father’s parents.
“When I re-entered that house, I was overwhelmed with nostalgia,” he added.
The world star currently shares her home with her husband, Danny Fujikawa. Her eldest son, Ryder, is now in college, while her two younger children, Bingham and Rani, still live in the family home. She recently posted a few photos of the property on her official Instagram page, showing off her favorite parts of the house.

Kate Hudson collaborated with premium appliance brand Café to design her elegant kitchen. The countertops are covered in blue marble, resting on snow-white wooden cabinets with gold handles. The light wood floor creates a striking contrast, and upholstered bar stools line the breakfast bar.
“I want a blue and yellow kitchen. I want more primary colors without it being too distracting. I want it to feel calm and modern. I don’t want it to feel cluttered. But I also want to use more bright, cheerful colors, not just the trendy, subdued greens and pinks—the creams and shades like that that have been really popular for a while. I want more vibrancy,” she said of the space.
It doesn’t really show in the pictures, but the interior and exterior are very open. It opens completely to the garden. My favorite thing is when the kids run in and out of the kitchen while I’m cooking – I love cooking.
I love the kitchen, it’s my favorite place in the world. I love it when everyone sits around it and an early afternoon cookout turns into an early dinner almost imperceptibly.
“I like it loud; I like it when the football is on. A loud, bustling kitchen is perfect for me,” he said.
The rest of the house
The house’s entrance is approached by a stone-paved walkway that leads to a gray glass door. The path is lined with carefully trimmed green bushes. The property’s spacious backyard features a swimming pool and a mini jacuzzi, all framed by a white wooden fence and a concrete-paved terrace. The exterior of the house is decorated with stylish gray-and-white stripes. And from the balcony, breathtaking sunsets unfold: towering palm trees and a view of the ocean complete the panorama.
Another favorite part of the actress’s home is her bathroom, and it’s no coincidence. The room features a spacious bathtub with gold fittings, a shelf with family photos, and a large window overlooking the back garden.
