Makeup-free Kim Kardashian supports daughter North West, 12, at nighttime recording session as she follows in dad Kanye West’s musical footsteps

Kim Kardashian was seen supporting her 12-year-old daughter, North West, at a nighttime recording session in Los Angeles on Monday. The 45-year-old reality star, who’s been enjoying her new relationship with F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, accompanied North to the studio as the preteen continues to follow in her father Kanye West’s footsteps.

North recently signed a major deal with Mariah Carey’s record label to advance her singing career. Kardashian kept things low-key in a black trench coat, matching trousers, and comfortable shoes, her hair pulled up into a messy bun, and opted for a minimal-to-no-makeup look. She carried a stylish purse while walking alongside North, who wore a black sweatshirt and sweatpants with silver embellishments, a simple ponytail, and fashionable sunglasses.

After leaving the studio, the mother-daughter duo got into a silver SUV to head to their next destination. Kardashian shares North, along with Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6, with her ex-husband Kanye West.

North recently signed with the independent entertainment company Gamma, run by former Apple executive Larry Jackson, which also works with Carey. Sources told Rolling Stone that she has already begun recording under the new partnership. Gamma, founded in 2023, has a star-studded roster including Usher, Sexyy Red, and Snoop Dogg, and has also teamed up with Ye for his upcoming album, Bully.

Homeschooled by both parents, North has been actively releasing music. Her track Piercing on My Hand debuted in early February, produced by Ye and Will Frenchman, reportedly as a response to criticism about her piercings. In January, she performed a surprise duet with her father in Mexico City, singing his 2014 song Only One, along with Piercing on My Hand, while Ye performed hits like Heartless and Mercy.

Previously, North contributed to FKA Twigs’ 2024 album EUSEXUA, rapping in Japanese on the track Childlike Things, and on her father’s Vultures 2 album in 2023. She has also announced her debut album, Elementary School Dropout, paying homage to West’s 2004 LP, The College Dropout, which she revealed during a listening party in Arizona.

North’s ventures extend beyond music, with Kardashian reportedly helping her daughter prepare for a larger business rollout. The reality star has filed multiple trademark applications for NOR11—covering clothing, accessories, jewelry, and bags—through KimYe’s Kid Inc, with Kardashian listed as an officer. North has already been spotted wearing NOR11-branded hats. While Ye’s direct involvement in these business plans hasn’t been confirmed, his influence is evident in shaping North’s early creative path.
