Anne Hathaway is sparking online debate after fans noticed her remarkably smooth complexion in the newly released trailer for The Odyssey.
The 43-year-old Oscar winner, long admired for her timeless beauty, drew attention on social media after viewers claimed her facial expressions appeared unusually restrained in several emotional scenes.
Some fans specifically pointed to Hathaway’s forehead, noting that it appeared exceptionally smooth even during moments that seemed to call for more visible expression.
The reactions quickly fueled speculation online, with several commenters accusing the actress of relying on Botox or other cosmetic treatments.
“The whole point of acting is expressing emotion — you can’t really do that with a frozen face,” one user wrote.

Others, however, defended Hathaway and criticized the pressures placed on women in Hollywood to maintain a youthful appearance.
“If she has had Botox, that says more about how brutal Hollywood standards are for women than it does about Anne Hathaway’s talent,” another commenter argued.
Hathaway herself has never publicly confirmed undergoing cosmetic procedures, though conversations surrounding aging and beauty standards in Hollywood continue to generate intense debate online.

The actress remains one of the industry’s most acclaimed stars, known for performances in films including The Devil Wears Prada, Les Misérables, and Interstellar.
Despite the chatter surrounding her appearance, anticipation for The Odyssey remains high, with fans eagerly awaiting Hathaway’s latest role.
Anne Hathaway previously sparked a frenzy online back in March when fans commented on her noticeably smooth and lifted appearance at the Academy Awards.
Despite years of speculation surrounding her youthful looks, the actress has consistently denied ever undergoing plastic surgery.

In April, Hathaway was even named “the most beautiful woman in the world” by People magazine, where she reflected on her personal philosophy surrounding beauty.
“A filmmaker once told me that beauty can include ugliness as long as it contains truth,” Hathaway explained during the interview. “For me, beauty has always lived somewhere within that idea.”
The The Devil Wears Prada star also shared insight into how she maintains her figure and overall wellness, praising longtime trainer Monique Eastwood.
“She’s incredible,” Hathaway said. “Monique combines ballet, HIIT, Pilates, and yoga because she used to be a ballerina.”
The mother of two added that she has worked privately with Eastwood for more than four years and credits the trainer with completely transforming her fitness routine.
“She’s honestly changed everything for the better,” the actress said.
Earlier this year, Hathaway declined to discuss what she called “medical information” during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar when questions about her appearance surfaced again.
However, she did attribute her glowing complexion in part to giving up alcohol and consistently using Shiseido skincare products, a brand she represents as an ambassador.
Hathaway has long spoken about wanting to preserve natural facial expression. In a 2010 interview, she said she avoided Botox because she wanted her face to “reflect personality” and maintain the same smile she had as a child.
Still, her age-defying appearance has repeatedly fueled speculation online, with both fans and cosmetic surgeons theorizing that she may have undergone subtle procedures.
Rumors intensified in late 2025, when several outlets suggested Hathaway may have experimented with cosmetic “tweakments” such as Botox, fillers, or even a so-called “ponytail lift.”
The actress is currently promoting The Devil Wears Prada 2 while also preparing for the release of The Odyssey.
Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey is based on Homer’s classic Greek epic.
The film stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, alongside an ensemble cast featuring Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron.
