Ghostbusters actress Jennifer Runyon has died of a serious illness at age 65.

Actress Jennifer Runyon has passed away in the United States. A close friend of the film star revealed that she had been battling cancer.

Jennifer Runyon passed away on Friday, March 6. Her brother announced the actress’s death. “My beautiful sister Jennifer has joined the angels in heaven,” David Runyon wrote on his personal blog. “Jenn was always true to her convictions, a wonderful mother, and a talented actress who especially loved the beauty of nature. Her gentle voice and sweet smile will remain with me forever.”

A close friend of the actress revealed the cause of her death. “I am so sad to announce that my friend Jennifer Runyon has passed away after a short battle with cancer,” Erin Murphy said. “She was special. I will miss you, Jen. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children.”

Actor Scott Baio responded to his co-star’s death. “I had the immense pleasure of working with Jennifer Runyon on ‘Charles in Charge.’ She was a sweet, kind, and generous actress who was a joy to work with. We last saw each other at the Hollywood Christmas Parade at the end of 2019. My deepest condolences, prayers, and sympathy go out to her family during this difficult time,” the actor said.

Jennifer Runyon was born on April 1, 1960, in Chicago, to actress Jane Roberts and radio host Jim Runyon. She has appeared in 37 films and television series. Her most famous roles include Ghostbusters, Murder, She Wrote, Charles in Charge, Upstream, 18 Again, and Till Death Us Do Part.

Runyon married basketball coach and film industry executive Todd Korman in 1991. The couple raised a son, Wyatt, and a daughter, Bailey. In recent years, Jennifer has worked as a teacher.
