The reboot maintains the classic California dream aesthetic and has been in development since discussions first surfaced in 2018.
Chokachi originally played Cody Madison on Baywatch, which debuted in 1989 and ran for 11 seasons, remaining popular in syndication through 2001. His character famously dated those played by Carmen Electra and Pamela Anderson, and he later became a main cast member after replacing David Charvet, staying on for four seasons.
The Massachusetts native, who also appeared in Witchblade, has been married to Susan Brubaker since 2004. The couple share a daughter, Brit Madison.
