The actress, best known for playing the sarcastic Amber Mariens in the 1995 hit Clueless, looked radiant at 55 as she attended an event in West Hollywood on Thursday. Donovan appeared at Soho House Holloway to celebrate Spice Girls star Mel B’s Revive Collagen campaign.
She turned heads in a crisp white shirt paired with beige lace parachute-style pants, posing confidently alongside other attendees including Gabourey Sidibe, Kamie Crawford, Natalie Mejia, and Olympic athlete Alysha Newman.
Speaking in a 2021 interview with Australia’s Today Extra, Donovan reflected on the lasting impact of Clueless. She admitted she never expected the film to become a cult favorite, though the cast sensed something special during production. While they believed it would succeed, she said they never imagined people would still be quoting it decades later.
After the film’s success, Donovan reprised her role in the Clueless TV spin-off, which ran from 1996 to 1999. She later landed a starring role as Morgan on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, playing one of Sabrina’s college roommates, and also appeared in season six of Beverly Hills, 90210. More recently, she has been seen on NCIS and Worst Cooks in America.
In 2021, Donovan released an inspirational memoir titled Wake Me When You Leave: Love and Encouragement via Dreams from the Other Side, in which she discussed her career and her experience overcoming cancer.
Meanwhile, Clueless recently marked its 30th anniversary. The 1995 teen comedy, directed by Amy Heckerling and starring Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz, became a surprise box-office success, earning $88 million on a $12 million budget. Its enduring popularity later inspired a TV series, an off-Broadway musical, and a sequel series currently in development for Peacock.
Silverstone has expressed excitement about the upcoming project, saying the goal is to honor what fans loved about the original while introducing fresh elements. Beyond Clueless, she has also enjoyed a career resurgence with roles in Bugonia, the Acorn TV drama Irish Blood, the Netflix holiday film A Merry Little Ex-Mas, and the thriller Pretty Thing.
