Richert, who played Melissa Joan Hart’s love interest Harvey Kinkle, shot to fame almost overnight in the 1990s. His boyish charm and good looks made him a teen heartthrob and captured the attention of fans around the world. However, 47-year-old Richert now looks very different from his all-American image during the show’s heyday.

He recently reunited with Joan Hart and Beth Broderick, who played Aunt Zelda, and Hart shared a photo from the reunion on Instagram, captioning it: “When the magic fam comes together!” In the snap, Richert wore a pink button-down, a jean jacket, and a gray hat, smiling for the camera but clearly showing how much time has passed since his days on the series.
Richert hasn’t acted regularly in nearly two decades. His last credited role was in 2006, and in recent years he revealed he took on several day jobs — including working as a janitor, maintenance man, and carpenter — just to cover the bills. On social media, he emphasized that he wasn’t ashamed of doing regular work, noting the instability of an acting career. “Actors so very rarely have job security or consistent work, quality healthcare, a reasonable retirement,” he explained. “I do improv and song write to maintain my sanity. We are actors because it is who we are at the core, for the love and need to bring the words on the page to life and make people feel them.”

After Sabrina the Teenage Witch ended in 2003, Richert appeared in a handful of movies, including Lovely & Amazing and Gamebox 1.0, and had minor TV appearances on shows like Fantasy Island, Beggars and Choosers, and Touched by an Angel. In the 2010s, he shifted focus to music, frequently sharing videos of himself playing guitar online.

Richert has also reflected on fame as “a necessary evil,” noting that it brings both joy and the loss of privacy, especially when critics are harsh. These days, he keeps a relatively low profile, attending Comic Cons and fan events occasionally, and recently launched a podcast with fellow Sabrina the Teenage Witch star Curtis Andersen.

On the personal front, Richert married Malorie Felt in 2019, though the couple filed for divorce in 2023. Despite stepping away from Hollywood, he continues to pursue creative projects while balancing day-to-day work, showing a grounded and resilient side far removed from the teen heartthrob image fans remember.
