Jennifer Garner gives mom Pat, 87, a hand while heading to church with teenage kids Fin and Samuel on Easter

Jennifer Garner spent quality time with her family on Easter Sunday, helping her elderly mother while heading to church in Los Angeles alongside her teenage sons. The 53-year-old actress supported her 87-year-old mother, Patricia, as they coordinated in shades of purple for the outing.

Garner looked elegant in an ankle-length ombré dress with a subtly flared hem, layered with a dark cardigan draped over her shoulders. Her mother, Patricia, donned a patterned long-sleeve top under a burgundy vest paired with navy trousers and leaned on a matching walking stick for support. Accompanying them were Garner’s sons Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14, whom she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck, 53. The couple also shares a 20-year-old daughter, Violet.

This Easter gathering comes after Garner revealed that her mother has been embracing her newfound spotlight while appearing in Garner’s cooking videos. Patricia has become a fan favorite on her Pretend Cooking Show series, delighting in the attention and recognition from viewers.

“She’s so funny. She loves it. She loves being recognized. She loves when people say hi to her. She’s very opinionated about what we should and shouldn’t do,” Garner told People in March. She added, “She likes to tell me her episodes perform the best—and I’m sure she’s right because she’s been right about everything for the last 53 years of my life. Why not the next?”

Garner highlighted favorite episodes, including an early segment making bagels and a chaotic beef bourguignon attempt that nearly set her kitchen ablaze. “I always like when my mom is with me because she’s so cute and she’s just the best. She’s a serious scene partner,” Garner said.

Earlier this year, in January, Garner treated Patricia to a trip to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Meanwhile, Garner and Affleck, who divorced in 2018 after separating in 2015, continue to co-parent amicably. The former couple was spotted running errands together with their son recently. Garner reflected on parenting across two households during a February appearance on Bustle’s One Nightstand podcast: “When your kids grow up in two separate households, I become mom and dad, and he becomes dad and mom… There’s a little bit of loss in that, but also something gained. It’s made me let go and not focus so much on the bringing up.”
