Matthew Perry’s ‘Ketamine Queen’ drug dealer sentenced to 15 years in jail for selling fatal dose to Friends icon

The woman accused of supplying the ketamine linked to Matthew Perry’s death has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Jasveen Sangha — nicknamed the “Ketamine Queen” by customers — previously pleaded guilty to five federal counts connected to the actor’s fatal overdose in 2023 and has remained in custody since her arrest in August 2024.

Federal prosecutors had recommended the 15-year sentence, describing Sangha as a dealer who continued selling drugs even after learning they had harmed others. Perry was found unresponsive in a jacuzzi at his Pacific Palisades home on October 28, 2023, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later ruled his death an accidental ketamine overdose. Prosecutors argued that Sangha demonstrated a “callous disregard for life,” prioritizing profit despite the risks.

Defense attorneys acknowledged her role in serious criminal conduct but asked the court to consider time already served. Investigators said Sangha worked with Erik Fleming to supply ketamine to the actor. In the weeks before Perry’s death, the pair allegedly sold dozens of vials that were passed to his personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, who prosecutors say administered multiple injections — including several on the day he died. Authorities also claim Sangha later instructed Fleming via encrypted messaging to delete their communications after news of Perry’s death broke.

Both Fleming and Iwamasa have since pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges related to distributing ketamine resulting in death and are awaiting sentencing. Prosecutors further alleged that Sangha used her home for years as a base to store, package, and distribute drugs including ketamine and methamphetamine.

Perry had long been open about his struggles with addiction, which intensified during his time starring as Chandler Bing on the hit sitcom Friends alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer. His battle with substance abuse often overlapped with his rise to global fame, a struggle he later spoke about candidly while advocating for recovery and addiction awareness.
