Sometimes we inherit old pieces of furniture or even antiques that are closely connected to family history and traditions – it would be a sin to throw them away. But! Nevertheless, in the trash, at sales, and at flea markets there is often furniture that has become unnecessary junk for someone. Real designers and hand-made people hunt for such “junk”. Because what is junk for some is treasure for others!
Remaking an old chest of drawers

Old furniture often carries a unique charm, but with time, wear and tear can make it look outdated and dull. The beauty, however, lies in the possibility of transformation. This vintage wooden dresser, once worn and peeling, has been given a completely new life with an imaginative makeover.
Inspired by the iconic Volkswagen van, the restoration turned the ordinary dresser into a whimsical statement piece. The process started with sanding and repairing any imperfections. A fresh coat of white and pastel blue paint helped mimic the classic VW Bus design. Creative detailing, such as headlights, windshield wipers, and a VW emblem, added depth and character. The finishing touch—a license plate reading “BEEP”—completed the fun, nostalgic look.
This piece is now not just a functional storage unit but also a bold and playful decor element, perfect for a kids’ room or a retro-themed space. It’s a true testament to how creativity and craftsmanship can breathe new life into forgotten furniture!
