Heidi Klum recently revealed that she and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, welcomed a new addition to their household — but the decision required a little persuasion.
The model shared on Instagram that she adopted a six-month-old puppy named Fritz after visiting a pop-up adoption event near her film studio. According to Klum, many of the dogs quickly found homes, but the small scruffy pup remained in his cage by the end of the day. She admitted she had to convince her husband, acknowledging he had reasonable concerns, yet she ultimately couldn’t walk away without giving the dog a home.

In the video she posted, Klum was seen strolling through New York City with Fritz tucked into a sling against her chest. She kept her look casual and cozy, wearing a fuzzy ivory coat layered over a matching sweatsuit, styled with loose waves, a neutral cap, and oversized sunglasses.
Klum, who married Kaulitz in 2019, is already a mother of four — Leni, Henry, Johan, and Lou — whom she shares with her ex-husband, Seal. The supermodel has often spoken about how much she values family life and creating a warm, welcoming home for her children.
In previous interviews, Klum said her biggest priority is making sure her kids feel safe and supported, adding that she enjoys having a lively household filled with friends and family. She also acknowledged that parenting comes with constant worry, explaining that while concerns evolve as children grow — from safety issues when they’re young to bigger life challenges later — the hope is always that the values instilled in them will guide them well into adulthood.
Klum added that the most rewarding moments come when others compliment her children’s kindness, saying those comments reassure her that the effort she’s put into raising them is paying off. With Fritz now part of the family, it appears her bustling, “the more, the merrier” household has grown even fuller.
