87-year-old Anthony Hopkins was one of the first to try the big new product from Kim Kardashian’s brand Skims – a modeling bandage for the face to eliminate swelling.
The actor is known for his portrayal of serial killer-cannibal Dr. Hannibal Lecter, embodied in the films “The Silence of the Lambs”, “Hannibal” and “Red Dragon”. Kim’s bandage is somewhat similar to the mask of the criminal hero, which Hopkins took advantage of by filming a funny video.
“Hey Kim, I already feel 10 years younger,” Hopkins said.
In the caption to the video, he playfully invites Kim Kardashian to dinner, a reference to Lecter’s famous line: “I’m having an old friend for dinner.” It’s a play on words, as the phrase means “to invite someone to dinner,” but if translated literally, it means “to eat someone for dinner.”
After the video was published, it quickly went viral: both Kim and Hopkins’ followers appreciated the humor, and many noted that it was brilliant PR for a new product. As a result, the bandage sold out instantly.
