She Was the ’80s Hollywood Fantasy — But Her Life Today Tells a Very Different Story

After her breakout performance in Crocodile Dundee, Linda Kozlowski became an international star, playing opposite Paul Hogan in a role that defined her career. But once the franchise faded and a few other projects followed, she slowly drifted away from Hollywood and disappeared from the spotlight.

Born on January 7, 1958, in Fairfield, Connecticut, Kozlowski developed an early passion for acting and trained at the prestigious Juilliard School. After graduating in 1981, she began working in theater, appearing in off-Broadway and Broadway productions, as well as television roles. One notable early credit was Death of a Salesman, where she performed alongside Dustin Hoffman.

Her path to success wasn’t easy. After that production, work became scarce, and she supported herself with waitressing jobs while trying to break into the industry in California. During this period, Dustin Hoffman—who mentored her—offered her a place to stay in Malibu while she pursued auditions that would change her future.

Her major breakthrough came when she landed the role of Sue Charlton in Crocodile Dundee, a part Hoffman reportedly encouraged her to pursue. The film became a global sensation, earning hundreds of millions on a modest budget and turning her into a household name almost overnight, especially after its success in Australia.

Despite her fame, Kozlowski grew disillusioned with Hollywood, feeling limited by the roles offered to her. She turned down parts that reduced her to a side character and eventually stepped away from acting after completing the Dundee sequels.

During the filming era, she began a relationship with co-star Paul Hogan. The couple married in 1990 and welcomed their son Chance in 1998, but ultimately divorced in 2014.

After the split, Kozlowski embraced a completely new life chapter. With a substantial settlement, she moved to Morocco, where she met tour guide Moulay Hafid Baba. Their connection quickly grew into both a romantic and business partnership.

Together, they founded Dream My Destiny, a luxury travel company offering personalized experiences in Marrakech. Leaving Hollywood behind, she reinvented herself in a world far removed from film sets.

Now in her 60s, Linda Kozlowski lives quietly and purposefully, channeling her creativity into travel design—proving her most fulfilling role came long after the cameras stopped rolling.
