Mama June Shannon, 46, looks thinner than ever as she makes the rare move of modeling a gown 11 years after weight loss surgery

Mama June Shannon, 46, appeared more confident than ever as she stepped onto the red carpet in a rare modeling moment, showcasing a glamorous gown more than a decade after undergoing weight loss surgery.

The reality TV star, best known from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, looked noticeably slim and radiant at the AMC Networks 2026 Upfront event in New York on Wednesday, where she joined industry guests at Spring Studios.

Once weighing over 500 pounds, Shannon underwent gastric sleeve surgery in 2015 and later dropped to around 150 pounds. Her weight has fluctuated over the years due to ongoing dieting and lifestyle changes, making her latest appearance stand out to fans.

For the event, she wore a sparkling sleeveless dress that highlighted her figure, paired with black heels, statement jewelry, and an elegant updo that emphasized her more defined facial features. Her polished look was completed with soft makeup and a glossy deep pink lip.

Shannon’s appearance also comes amid ongoing health concerns. She recently revealed she had an unexpected total hysterectomy in April 2025 after doctors discovered fibroid-related complications, sharing that it had initially caused fears of something more serious.

She has continued to deal with additional medical issues, though she emphasized that none are life-threatening. At the same time, she has also been focused on maintaining her sobriety, saying she has remained free from alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs for over five years.

In recent years, Shannon’s personal life has also included major changes, including gaining custody of her granddaughter following the death of her daughter Anna Cardwell in 2023. She has described the experience as emotionally difficult but also a necessary adjustment for her family.

Despite past struggles, Shannon has continued working on Mama June: Family Crisis, remaining active on television while navigating health challenges, family responsibilities, and her recovery journey.
